Dear Cor Jesu Alumni,
Our alma mater that existed for only 15 years, but what an impact it made on all of us who were fortunate to grace its halls. I still remember the first day of the new school in 1954 when a steamroller was putting the finishing touches on the blacktop behind the classroom building. Since we had only freshmen and sophomores, the brothers lived on the unused second floor of the classroom building until their residence was finished the following spring.
All the Cor Jesu school buildings still exist at 4401 Elysian Fields although many modifications have been made. But the two floors of classrooms are still intact, and the final Kingsmen class of 1969, as part of its 50th anniversary celebration, has initiated a campaign to leave a memory of our alma mater at Brother Martin forever, starting with the naming of the original classroom building as Cor Jesu Hall.
The goal of the campaign is raise $100,000 by December 2019 to meet the greatest needs of the school as deemed by the President and Principal.
Once the goal is reached, a classroom in Cor Jesu Hall will be named for each class from which alumni contribute. Some classes may opt to honor a faculty member on the donor acknowledgement piece.
To ensure the memory of Cor Jesu High School will live on forever, we ask that you consider a gift to our Cor Jesu Hall Campaign. Please see the form below for gift options.
Ametur Cor Jesu; Ametur Cor Mariae,
Brother Neal Golden, S.C. '57 CJ
