Members of the Class of 2013 and their parents attended an informative meeting this past week titled “Take the Next Step.” The newly elected and appointed leaders for many of the school’s clubs were presented before students and parents attended various “break out” sessions related to the college application process, including sessions titled “Making an Application Calendar–One College Admission Officer’s Perspective,” “Applying to Competitive Colleges/Universities,” and “The Parents’ Transition to College,” just to name a few. At the end of the evening, guests were able to visit with admissions representatives from over 15 colleges, including Tulane, Loyola, LSU, Washington University, UNO, and the University of Alabama, and enjoy light refreshments. This program is sponsored by Mrs. Laurie Leftwich in our College Counseling Office and is another tangible way Brother Martin High School stays up to date in educating our students and parents on college admissions.
