Spring Band Concert Draws Huge Crowds

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe Annual Spring Band Concert took place on Thursday night in the Conlin Gym before a huge crowd of parents, friends and supporters. Many student groups were featured including the Crusader Band Drum Line performing Marty Hurley Cadences, some for the last time. The Symphonic Band, Novice Band, and Concert Band performed a wide variety of styles and sounds. Highlights were Todd Stalter’s Critical Mass, a rendition of the Fight Song conducted by Drum Major Beau Bujol and performed by the Novice Band, student arranged pieces like the heartfelt Crossing Fields, Pirates of the Caribbean’s Up is Down and John Williams movie blockbuster Star Wars. Arrangers were Ben Buller, Zack Romano, and Brandon Gaillot respectively. Senior Band Captain, Steven Heurtin, was featured in the Mozart adaptation Concert Rondo. The Concert ended with the lush sounds of the Music of Jurassic Park. Many awards and honors were given for our recent Solo & Ensemble Festival, and deserving students received medals for Merit. With all of the talent and pride that exists at all levels, our band program will continue to have tremendous potential. Congratulations Crusader Band!
