The Behavioral Ecology and Environmental Science Research team has been hard at work. During a visit the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, students had the opportunity to meet with Dr. David Echevarria and his graduate students from the Behavioral Neuroscience Laboratory of which Dr. Echevarria is the principle investigator. While at USM, the team received a tour of the behavioral neuroscience lab as well as a lecture on behaviors in aquatic species. At the conclusion of the lecture, Brother Martin students participated in a research study in which they scored behaviors and analyzed the data.
Also, the team recently completed a study exploring the effects of salinity on the largemouth bass as a result of storm surges experienced during Hurricane Issac.
