During our daily, school-wide morning prayer, senior Tyler Thompson read a prayer for our Class of 2018’s last week of school:
Today as part of the seniors’ last week of classes, we acknowledge the elementary schools that the seniors attended. I attended St. Pius X Elementary School. Like myself, many seniors today are wearing shirts and sweatshirts representing the elementary school they attended.
During our four, five, or even six years here at Brother Martin, we have grown and developed tremendously. Today we acknowledge the growth and formation that we received in the eight or nine years that we spent in grammar school. Let us take a moment to call to mind a particular teacher we had in elementary school who had a significant impact on the person that we have become today.
Let us call to mind that we are in God’s presence.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Lord,
We thank you for the journey, we seniors, have taken starting in elementary school, continuing through high school, and soon to college. We thank you for the teachers and staff, who have provided us with care and who have helped shape us as we have become more mature. Lord, We also thank you for those teachers who have been a role model, who have instilled Catholic values in us, and who have set an example for us as seniors to follow. Finally, we ask for your guidance as we finish our final week of classes, so that we may finish strong.
We ask this in your name… Amen.
Ametur Cor Jesu, Loved be the Heart of Jesus.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
