Morning Prayer for First Day of Remote Learning

Director of Campus Ministry, Mr. Tom Baier sends an update on schoology to all of our Faculty, Staff, and Students to begin our first day of remote learning in prayer on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Just as we begin each day together on Elysian Fields.

“Good morning.  On this first day of the Fourth Quarter and our move to Remote Learning,  let us remember that while we are a bit more remote and distant from one another, we are never remote from God.  We will start our day with school-wide prayer every morning of Remote Learning just like we did every morning when we were on together on campus at Elysian Fields Ave. and Gentilly Blvd. and just like we will continue to do when we are back on campus.

Before you click on the link to hear this morning's prayer read by senior Student Minister Emmanuel Levy, close your eyes and remember that you are in God's presence then think about where you usually are at 8:00 AM when that second tone rings.  Who is sitting next to you?  Who is that guy sliding into his desk just before the tone just like he's been doing for the first three quarters?  What is the first thing that the teacher is going to say after the prayer is read? Is your classroom cold?  Did you forget your nametag and you are hoping that your teacher doesn't check for it today?  Teachers, did you get that last cup of coffee before heading to your classroom?

Welcome to our version of "Remote Learning" and let us realize that we are closer to each other than we really think and with God's grace we will get through this together.  Ametur Cor Jesu!  Ametur Cor Mariae!”
