The Brother Martin Mu Alpha Theta club hosted its Annual Middle School Math Tournament on Saturday, October 5, 2019. The morning began with 113 participants from 11 different schools competing in carnival games in the Brother Martin Backyard. Brother Martin students organized and monitored the games where middle school participants could win tickets to be used for door prizes that were awarded later in the day.
After the carnival games ended, the math competitions began. Middle school students competed in an Individual Test and a Team Test, and those tests were followed by a Math Relay. Each Relay Team was led by a Brother Martin student who was randomly assigned a group of up to four students from different schools. These students joined forces to do math and have fun (how could you not?). The day culminated with the presentation of door prizes and awards for the various math competitions.
The following Crusader 8th graders earned recognition at the tournament for being integral contributors to the Crusader team:
Algebra I Individual:
Matt Biehl (Honorable Mention)
