Marty Hurley Memorial Mass

Wednesday morning, the administration, faculty, staff, and student body of Brother Martin High School held a Memorial Mass in the Robert M. Conlin Gymnasium honoring long time Band Directory Marty Hurley.

Before the liturgy, members of the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard and Brother Martin NJROTC Honor Guard made a presentation of the United States flag to Marty’s wife, Mrs. Paulette Hurley, and family.

Fr. Paul Hart ’70 celebrated Mass and Fr. Kyle Dave ’89 co-celebrated along with Br. Louis Couvillon, S.C., an ordained Brother of the Sacred Heart.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, reflections were given by Mr. Arthur Hardy, a former colleague, Dominick Caronna ’85, Band Director, along with a  performance of Southern Reb-bell Candence with Jimmy Hurley, John Purser ’98, and John Wooten.  Reflections were also given by the senior Drum Major Brett Storms and senior Drum Captain Justin Greene.  The ceremony concluded with one more performance by the Brother Martin Drum Line, both current students and alumni, and members of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps.
