On Saturday, October 5, Brother Martin patrons and guests gathered for the annual Celebration of the Crest at the New Orleans Marriott. The auction theme this year was ‘Lights, Camera, Auction!’ The event welcomed nearly 700 guests including parents, friends, alumni of St. Aloysius, Cor Jesu, and Brother Martin, and faculty and staff of Brother Martin High School. The chair couple for the event was Kim and Jamie Munoz; co-chair couple was Diane and Jimmy Gatti.
The star-studded celebration began with a premium Patron Reception beginning at 6:30 p.m. Brother Martin patrons were even treated to a special gift for attending the reception. Following the patron reception, auction guests began to enter the Grand Ballroom. A selection of silent and live auction items were open for bidding, and guests tried their luck with several raffles including the “$5,000 Cash Raffle,” “Ramsey’s Reverse Raffle,” “50/50 Raffle,” “52 Raffle,” and more. The evening’s master of ceremonies was Mr. Mark Romig ‘74 who kept the live auction bidding fast and furious with his wit and his “Touchdown Crusaders!” Over nine unique items were up for the live auction, and Student Ambassadors helped bidders to “Bid High” and bid often, with all proceeds going directly to Brother Martin. Items included a gourmet dinner for eight by Chef Scot Craig ‘80 and football cleats signed by Thomas Morestead and Wil Lutz (donated by the New Orleans Saints and Mr. Jay Romig ‘72). Guests enjoyed music by Louisiana Spice as they danced the night away after the bidding. Auction sponsors and donors were recognized throughout the night on dual oversized screens as well as on our auction website.
This event, sponsored by the Brother Martin Parents Club, is the school’s largest annual fundraiser benefiting the student body. Thank you to all of our generous supporters who helped to make the night a success. We look forward to another great event next year!
