During this COVID-19 pandemic, we hope that you and your families are staying safe and well. Over the course of several weeks, we have witnessed a sudden change in our daily routines and social gatherings with friends and families. If you are similar to us, it is a challenge to be separated from our loved ones in both a personal and school setting. In order to keep your safety and health a top priority, the Ladies of the Shield Tea, St. Joseph Altar, and Easter Egg Hunt were canceled this spring. These events are very dear to us as this is when we welcome and celebrate our New Crusader Moms, our Senior Moms, all members of the Ladies of the Shield, and women with a love for Brother Martin.
As we continue with the school year away from Elysian Fields, we still welcome future and current members to learn more about the Ladies of the Shield. Saint Claudine Thévenet, the founder of the Congregation of the Religious of Jesus and Mary, said "How good God is" in some of the most challenging times of her life. Under our present circumstances, God is good as he has blessed our Brother Martin family with our Ladies of the Shield organization who supports Brother Martin and the Brothers of the Sacred Heart and their Partners in Mission through continued involvement in our community. Our organization has also produced lifelong camaraderie and friendships.
Upon learning of the extension of the Stay at Home Order, let us continue to pray for those affected by the illness and for our students. In the future, we will celebrate our friendships through other opportunities that we look forward to planning when time allows.
