Excalibur Honor Society Spends the Morning with Spiders!

On Thursday, Aimée K. Thomas, Ph.D. , Assistant Professor for the Department of Biological Sciences & Environment Program and the Associate Director of the Honors Program at Loyola University New Orleans, brought spiders to our Excalibur National Science Honor Society meeting. Students were given a crash course in arthropods and a quick lesson on venomous spiders, such as black widows and brown recluse which all reside in our area of Louisiana.  At the end of the presentation, Dr. Thomas took out a live tarantula for the brave students to touch!
