The Brother Martin community gathered in the Conlin Gymnasium for a special assembly to begin “Culture of Life” month. After a prayer service lead by senior Thomas Nash and featuring several students and staff members, Ansel Augustine from the Archdiocesan CYO Office spoke to the entire student body about “respect life” issues. During the course of the day, various speakers gave presentations to religion classes, including topics such as immigration and world poverty (Nick Albares from Catholic Charities), abortion and contraception (Woman’s New Life Center), IVF and embryonic stem cell research (Mrs. Debbie Dixon, R.N.), adoption, and the Church and the death penalty. Thank you to members of the Religion Department and Campus Ministry Team for organizing this important event to continue our education in Catholic teaching.
