Crusaders Selected as Altar Servers of the Year and Outstanding Youth Award

On the evening of April 2, the Archdiocese of New Orleans honored nearly 80 boys and girls in the New Orleans area, by the Serra Clubs of New Orleans, as Altar Servers of the Year. Archbishop Gregory Aymond presented each honoree with a medal and certificate and thanked the entire group for serving God and our community. Each altar server was selected by their individual parish to be named an Altar Server of the Year.

“He said just as New Orleans is a place of southern hospitality, the altar servers provide that hospitality to the parish community by setting the eucharistic table and leading the faithful into prayer through the entrance procession and leading them to go out into the world with the message of Christ after the dismissal.” - from Clarion Herald.
