The Brother Martin community gathered together on Friday morning in the Conlin Gymnasium at our monthly school-wide liturgy to celebrate the Advent season with our celebrant and Chaplain, Fr. Paul Hart ‘70. Advent is a time of preparing, of hoping, of longing, of waiting in the midst of darkness, and of watching for the signs of Christ’s coming. As we journey through Advent, we need to be ready for Christ’s arrival as we wait for His light which will cast us out of darkness and which will heal our blindness.
As we wait with courage and confidence during this season of Advent and we begin the Church’s new liturgical year, we look inward and ask ourselves the following questions:
How have I lived this past year?
How am I preparing myself for Christ’s arrival?
Am I renewing myself this Advent season so that I can be prepared for Christ’s arrival?
Students who participated in the Mass included Acolytes Ryan O’Connor and Beau Robinson; Crossbearer Chandler Bonvillain; Candle Bearers Alex East and Mason Cavalier; and Readers Hunter Appleton, Jackson Anuszkiewicz, Nicholas Hagstette, and Ahmad Wilson. Drew Dodd, Michael Champagne, Cade Litolff, and Cameron Johnson carried the banners as part of the Liturgy.
Following the Mass, Brother Martin honored current eighth graders and freshman who received academic scholarships. This year, 23 Crusaders received the honor.
