This morning, the Brother Martin community celebrated together at an All Saints Day Liturgy. Mass was said by Rev. Paul Hart ‘70; he focused on recognizing that with God that all things are possible. He preached about the Beatitudes or, as he calls them, the “Attitudes to Be” and the lives of the Saints, who were once sinners. In addition, he focused on having Faith and the power we have to be great influence on others. Our Crusader community this day as a holy day in which we honor all the men and women who have gone before us in their saintly lives.
THE EIGHT BEATITUDES OF JESUS
“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they shall be satisfied.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure of heart,
for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called children of God.
Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Gospel of St. Matthew 5:3-10
