Crusader Writer Invited to Carnegie Hall

2014072We are pleased to announce that senior Timothy Fradella ’14 has earned national recognition in the 2014 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards in the category of Flash Fiction for his story, “Bleak Horizons.” His work was identified by panels of creative writing professionals as one of the most talented young writers in the nation. This year, almost 255,000 works of art and writing were submitted, and only the top 1% were recognized with medals at the national level. These students, including Timothy, have been invited to attend a national ceremony at the world-famous Carnegie Hall on Friday, June 6. The National Ceremony at Carnegie Hall will also be webcast live at 5:00 p.m. CST by visiting www.artandwriting.org.

Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized creative teenagers across the country. By receiving a national medal, Timothy joins an impressive legacy. Alumni include Truman Capote, Stephen King, Sylvia Plath, Andy Warhol, Ken Burns, Joyce Carol Oates, John Updike, and many more.
