The Crusader Rugby Team rebounded from two close losses in a big way by destroying Rummel 61-0. Despite the big scoreline the Crusaders started sluggishly, making poor choices and trying to force passes. However, shortly into the first half the Crusaders found their rhythm, and there was no looking back. Rummel fought hard and tackled well but did not have an answer for the Crusader offense, which spread the ball from sideline to sideline. The Crusaders were able to empty their bench and not drop in the level of play. Most importantly, the Crusaders refused to give up any points.
Scoring for the Crusaders were Bruce Cuccia and Jeffery Anderson with two tries a piece and Joe Caravella, Nic Uddo, Clay Patten, John Michael Domingo, Alex Beninate, Gerard Guerra, and Evan Guinta with one try each. Alec Miller hit three conversions to round out the scoring.
Next up for the Crusader Ruggers is Parkway United from St Louis at the rugby field in City Park at 1pm on Saturday February 25th.
