On Wednesday, August 24, 2016, Brother Martin hosted more than 40 visitors from Canado Technique, a technical college of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, which is located in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The visitors were interested in learning about the use of technology in our classrooms and will also visit other schools run by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in the region.
Upon arrival, the visitors were welcomed by Assistant Disciplinarian Mr. Michael Lynn, Jr. ’04, administration, faculty, staff, and students of Brother Martin in the library. An advanced French student started the morning with a prayer spoken in French. Students also introduced themselves to our guests in French. Then, a continental breakfast was served before the morning’s events began. They first learned about the history of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in New Orleans from Mrs. Keiren Aucoin.
Then, the two groups toured campus and participated in a technology seminar hosted by Technology Coordinator Mr. Craig Zeller ‘02 and Assistant Technology Coordinator Mr. Kevin Caparotta ‘88 in the library. Our guests ended their visit with lunch in the Benson Mall and a question and answer session in the library before leaving with goody bags of special Brother Martin items.
Merci beaucoup to our visitors for spending time at Brother Martin!
