This past weekend, members of the Brother Martin community, students, parents, and faculty, participated in the annual Woman's New Life Clinic Born to Run one mile and 5K race held on Lakeshore Drive in New Orleans. Our Crusaders raised over $1,000, and the event generated over $80,000 for Woman's New Life Clinic. Eighth graders Evan Galliano and Grant Brewer placed first and second respectively in the 10-14 year-old male category. This fundraiser, with proceeds from race entry fees and individual and team fundraising, helps supports this local clinic whose mission is to support expecting mothers so that they have the proper medical, emotional, and spiritual support for their pregnancies and newborns. Our participation supports the Catholic Social Teaching on the "Life and Dignity of the Human Person" from conception to natural death.
We would like to thank the Brother Martin Campus Ministry and Crusaders for Life and Justice for organizing our participation in this annual event.
