Pictured below is a card punch that was installed at St. Aloysius for the 1965-6 school year. The new system included an IBM Accounting Machine that could read the cards and perform various tasks with the information, such as:
- sorting
- counting
- tabulating
The new president, Brother Remigius, S.C., converted the school to punched card record-keeping for attendance, scheduling, report cards, and finances.
The hands in the picture are probably those of Brother Rian, S.C., who learned to program the new machine, amazing even the IBM engineers with what he was able to make it do.
Newer versions of the machines would continue to process information for the first decade of Brother Martin High School.
