Brendan Saltaformaggio ('08), a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at Purdue University in Lafayette IN, was a co-author of a treatise that won the Best Student Paper award at the 23rd USENIX Security Symposium, a top-tier computer systems security conference.
- The title of the paper was "DSCRETE: Automatic Rendering of Forensic Information from Memory Images via Application Logic Reuse."
- The paper is one of only two papers sharing the award from the 67 papers accepted from 350 submissions.
- The authors are affiliated with Purdue's Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security.
- The award was presented at the conference on August 20 in San Diego.
Robert Dumaine (CJ '57) was featured in an article in Loyola (N.O.) Magazine in the Spring 2014 issue.
- The article, "Duck Stamp Dynasty," discusses his over 30 year career in buying and selling of stamps - especially duck stamps, prints, and related material. During that time, Bob has become a recognized leader and expert in duck stamps. He owns and operates a retail stamp and wildlife store in Houston.
- Bob is the founder of the National Duck Stamp Collectors Society and assists the National Postal Museum in Washington, D.C., in research and preparation of material for the duck stamp gallery.
- He also served on the American Stamp Dealers Association Board of Directors for six years.
