How do you like the snazzy suits and shoes on the officers of the Sodality of the Blessed Mother?

New Year's Eve Snowfall 1963

A heavy snowfall hit New Orleans on New Year's Eve 1963. The picture above was taken on the Cor Jesu campus along what later was the first base line of the baseball field. The covered area in the background became part of the mall when the consolidation occurred. The Sugar Bowl game the next day was played at Tulane Stadium with snow pushed the edges of the field.

The St. Aloysius Band Boosters decided that their project for 1965-6 would be the purchase of needed instruments. In addition to monthly card socials, "Battle of the Bands," and the sale of Crusader license plates, the Boosters also sponsored a donkey basketball game between the seniors and the band members. The effort succeded to the tune of two tubas, a bass trombone, an oboe, and two flutes with a tuner and a stereo system thrown in for good measure.

Biology teacher Peggy Vath receives a pie in the face from cheerleader Scott Landry ('77) at a 1974 football pep rally. Brother Brice Hendrick, S.C., the principal, also took one for the team at another pep rally.
