The Superior General of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart with his council in Rome appointed the first administration of the Province of the United States.
  • Provincial Superior: Brother Mark Hilton (currently of the New England Province)
  • First Councilor: Brother Ronald Hingle ('78) (New Orleans Province)
  • Second Councilor: Brother Joseph Holthaus (New York Province)
  • Third Councilor: Brother Ivy LeBlanc (New Orleans Province)
  • Fourth Councilor: Brother Barry Landry (New Or­leans Province)

The term of the first administration is July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2017.

Brother Mark and Brother Joseph have both lived in New Orleans, Mark while a Novice at the Tri-Province Novitiate on City Park Avenue and Joe as a member of the Novitiate staff.

All three councilors from the New Orleans Province have served on the faculty of Brother Martin High School.


WWL-TV Sports Director Doug Mouton ('81) was named top sportscaster in the state by the National Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.

  • Doug won an Emmy Award in 2004 when he was the Northshore Bureau chief for the station.
  • He also won an Edward R. Murrow Award in 2005.
  • He began his TV career in sports before moving to the news side, then returning to sports when Jim Henderson retired in early 2012.

Did You Know?
A long time club at St. Aloysius and Cor Jesu was the Confraternity of the Sacred Heart. The organization's goal was to promote the spiritual life of its members at each grade level.

Some of the events and practices the Confraternity sponsored over the years were:

  • Mass and communion each First Friday
  • The Family Rosary for happy home life and world peace
  • Recitation of the rosary in the chapel during the lunch hour
  • Distributing Christmas baskets to needy families
  • Sending delegates to the province-wide Confraternity convention held each spring
