The New Orleans Province of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart wll hold a special Provincial Chapter at the Hospitality Center across Elysian Fields from Brother Martin on Monday, January 21 for the purpose of discussing and approving a merger with the other two U.S. Provinces.

The New England and New York Provinces are undergoing the same process, which is expected to be finalized in 2015.

The Advocate ran an article in its Saturday, January 5 edition: "A few minutes with ... Rod West" ('86), the CEO of Entergy.
  • The occasion was Rod's alma mater, Notre Dame, playing in the BCS Championship Game.
  • When asked about the deciding factors when choosing a college, he replied, in part:

Additionally, having played in the Catholic League at Brother Martin High School, Notre Dame was also a familiar environment in terms of the roles of spirituality in campus life.


Another famous Crusader athlete's name made the news because of his son.
  • Rick Robey ('74) led Brother Martin to the 1974 State Basketball Championship.
  • After playing in the NBA, Rick made his home in Kentucky, where he played for the Wildcats.
  • His son Ben, an offensive lineman with three letters, came with Florida to the Sugar Bowl. The senior played his last game for the Gators against the Cardinals from his home­town of Louisville.

Anthony Dominici
Anthony Dominici
One of his art students that Randy Asprodites particularly remembers is Anthony Dominici ('88).
  • After graduating from UNO with a B.A. in Fine Arts Photography, he attended The American Film Institute conservatory, where he earned an MFA in Directing in 1999.
  • Anthony has won two prime time Emmys for his work as Super­vising Producer of CBS' The Amazing Race, a show that has given him the incredible experience of traveling around the world three times.
  • Currently he is Executive Producer of the CW network's number one show, America's Next Top Model.
  • He also produced MTV's The Real World: Chicago and directed The Real World: New Orleans.
  • Showing his versatility, Anthony's 2005 film Gray Matter, which he co-wrote and directed, won The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Award, The New York Expo Jury Award, and the AFI Bridges/Larson Direct­ing Award.
  • Peter Rabbit and the Crucifix, which he wrote, produced, and direct­ed, received prizes from several film festivals.
