The basketball team went up against the Jesuit Blue Jays on Tuesday, February 14 (Valentine’s Day) in the Robert M. Conlin Gymnasium. Love was in the air for the Crusaders as they defeated the Blue Jays by a score of 65-53 on Senior Night. The offense was led by senior Tré Swilling who scored 18 points on 7-for-14 shooting. Senior Pattre’en Hughes was a big contributor on defense grabbing ten rebounds and one steal. Freshman Davonn “Peanut” Moore was the other Crusader scoring in double figures with 14 points. Also contributing for the Crusaders were Tyler Epps, Tyler Lally, Vejon Wallis, Blake Zamjahn, and Bruce Jordan- Swilling.
The Crusaders return to the court on Friday night at Holy Cross where they look to claim outright district championship when they play the Holy Cross Tigers. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
