Tuesday morning, Nov 10th, our AP US History students participated in the National Constitution Center’s Scholar Exchange program by attending a virtual lecture and Q&A session on Voting Rights with senior fellow Dr. Nicholas Mosvick and Ms. Sarah Harris, the Center’s education program manager. The session covered the constitutional basis of suffrage and various historical developments since 1776, which taught the students more about the American voting process that we witness today. Dr. Mosvick explained the basis for voting rights as outlined in the Constitution and opened up the meeting for class questions and discussion.
“The Constitutional Center was an opportunity for us to delve further into the history topics that we learned, and allowed us to receive more context and learning on the rights for voting. With the election of 2020 happening, the Constitutional Center taught us the precedent on votes and elections.”

"The Constitution Center helped to cultivate my understanding of American History by providing a context to and a constitutional perspective of our current political situation."
