On Friday, October 21, 2016, Plus 50 alumni and their guests were invited to the Homecoming Tailgate outside of Tad Gormley Stadium with complimentary food and soft drinks. Inside the stadium, pre-game introductions and recognitions were announced to anniversary classes. Prior to kickoff, alumni filled the stadium to watch the Crusaders’ victory over the Archbishop Rummel Raiders 27-22.
On Saturday, continuing with the festivities, the Plus 50 Mass and Reunion took place at Brother Martin High School. The evening began in the James B. Branton Chapel with a beautiful Mass celebrated by Fr. Paul Hart ’70.
After Mass, Assistant Alumni Director Scott Corrente Sr. ’83 recognized special guests and classes celebrating anniversaries. Russell Corb ’61 CJ, from Ligonier, Pennsylvania and Charles Gauthier ‘56 SA from Bryan Roads, Maryland were recognized as the alumni who traveled the farthest to attend our Plus 50 Reunion. Manuel Messina, James Russo and Jim Quigley from the class of 1941 were recognized as alumni from the earliest class.
Special recognition was also given to Capital Campaign Director Mrs. Julie Gandolfi, the Development Office, Fr. Paul Hart ’70, Vocalist Mrs. Melanie Williams and Loyola School of Music’s Pianist & Choral Director Dr. Meg Frazier.

Following the Mass and special recognitions, a reception and dinner was served in the Tom and Gayle Benson Mall. Alumni reminisced as well as exchanged memories and photos with their classmates and spouses as they enjoyed a delightful dinner.
