Members of the Brother Martin Academic Games team competed in the 50th annual AGLOA National Tournament held in Orlando, Florida, from April 24th through April 27. Our students were part of conglomerate teams with other New Orleans area students and placed in several of the academic games played at the competition.
The Junior Varsity team with Hunter Mathas and Adam Peters placed 4th in On-Sets, 1st in Presidents, 1st in Propaganda, and 3rd in the Sweepstakes competition. In the Varsity Division, Gabriel Cespedes’ team took 1st in Propaganda. Also, the team with Joseph Arrigo and Dominique Lousteau placed 3rd in Equations, 3rd in On-Sets, 4th in Propaganda, and 3rd overall.
Students who took home individual awards were Dominique Lousteau (Perfect Score in Equations), Hunter Mathas (3rd Place in Equations), and Joseph Arrigo (6th in Propaganda, 4th Place in Presidents, 2nd Place in Equations, and 2nd Place overall in the Senior Division). Joseph was also named one of only five Outstanding Seniors and is the first Brother Martin student to receive the recognition since 2002.
