On Thursday, August 19th, our 8th and 9th-grade Crusaders took part in a powerful liturgy in the Robert M. Conlin Gymnasium celebrated by Fr. Paul Hart ’70, the Brother Martin Chaplain. Fr. Paul's homily empowered our young men, drawing forth their courage to take on any challenge as proud Crusaders. The first reading, from the book of the prophet Isaiah (40:25-31), perfectly evokes these feelings of courage as did Fr. Paul's homily:
"Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is God from of old,
creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary,
and his knowledge is beyond scrutiny.
He gives power to the faint,
abundant strength to the weak.
Though young men faint and grow weary,
and youths stagger and fall,
They that hope in the LORD will renew their strength,
they will soar on eagles’ wings;
They will run and not grow weary,
walk and not grow faint."
We are proud of our 8th and 9th-graders for their reverence at today's liturgy, highlighting our commitment to a holistic approach to education in the formation of these young men for life.
