FIRST Tech Challenge (Robotics)

First Tech Challenge

FIRSTTech_IconVert_RGBFIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) provides students in grades 8-12 with the opportunity to learn and apply science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills by designing, building, and programming a robot. The team and their “bot” compete at Louisiana area regional meets and qualifiers, with the potential of advancing to the Southern Super Regional and the World Championship competitions. Information about each year’s new game is announced at the yearly kickoff event in September.

Robotics team members learn how to apply the math and science skills that they learn in the classroom to real-life projects. Hopefully, each team member can utilize their knowledge in future careers involving computer programming, business, and engineering.
