Crusader Baseball Advances to Quarterfinal Playoffs

Copy of IMG_0101Ethan Moser ’20 would not be denied at the plate when runners were on base on Thursday, driving in five on three hits to lead Brother Martin past McKinley 23-1 on Thursday. Moser drove in runs on a single in the first, a sacrifice fly in the second, and a single in the fourth.

Crusaders got things moving in the first inning, when Moser singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs. Brother Martin scored seven runs in the fifth inning. Our big inning was driven by doubles by Brandon Bonura ’19 and Dillon Fair ’20, a walk by Caden Nash ’19, a triple by Dominic Robert ’18, and by Patrick Kennair ’19.

Jacob Cohen ’20 pitched the Crusaders to victory. He surrendered one run on three hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking zero. Ethan Dupas ’20 and Brady Faust ’19 entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

The Crusaders totaled 13 hits in the game and was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. The Crusaders move on to the Quarterfinal playoffs against Holy Cross this Friday, May 4th, and Saturday, May 5th.
