The Christian Service Experience at Brother Martin has
as its goal the involvement of students in situations and experiences
which will broaden their understanding of Christian responsibility
and the call of Jesus to serve one another.
Eighth Grade Requirement
10 Hours
Can be completed during the summer. Must be finished by March 2,
2010.

Freshman Requirement
10 Hours

Sophomore Requirement
20 Hours
Can be completed during the summer. Must be finished by March 2, 2010.
Suggested activities: hours spent in direct service to others,
working at a soup kitchen, hospital, nursing home, tutoring, collecting
and distributing food or clothes to the poor, hours spent in service
at agencies that help the community
Junior Requirement
60 Hours
Students are required to spend 60 hours in community service, beginning in the fourth quarter of their sophomore year and completed by March 2, 2010. Ten of those hours must be done with at least one other member of the junior class. Fifty of these hours may be divided between a maximum of two approved agencies, with a minimum of twenty-five hours at each. The remaining ten hours may be performed at one or both of these agencies or at a third approved agency. Students are also required to complete the Christian Service Experience Workbook and a three-page reflection paper. Students who complete the hours and the workbook by the second day of school in January may choose an interview with a member of the Campus Ministry Team instead of the reflection paper.
