During the first basketball camp, over 100 boys ranging from 6 -13 years old attended and were eager to learn new techniques and fundamentals of the game. Coaches Chris Biehl, Jeffrey Lupo ’92, Tommy Smith ’71, and Russ Williams were available to assist in coaching while members of the Brother Martin basketball team worked with the boys on various drills that included three on three games, free throw competitions, hot shot competitions, and more. During the second basketball camp, new and returning campers were treated to more fun and even a special guest. This year was the first time a second week of camp was offered to campers. Over 120 campers attended the second week and coach Chris Biehl said, ” The attitudes were great, and the competition was fierce; however, our campers displayed great sportsmanship regardless of the outcome.”  The campers were also treated to a visit from Pierre the Pelican of the New Orleans Pelicans, who spent time with the campers displaying his dance moves and showing off his free throw shots. The crowd went wild when Pierre made a shot into the basketball goal without even looking! At the conclusion of camp, campers competed in various games in front of friends and family and an awards ceremony was held  to close out a great week second week of camp.
