Gale Group Databases

This subscription grants student access to Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center, Literature Resource Center and Biography Resource Center as well as Gale Virtual Reference Library, our collection of e-books, books available in print format as well as electronic format. To search these e-books, Select GVRL, conduct a Basic Search of all resources or click SHOW ALL and then select a specific title. Off-site use requires the mascot password.

Brother Martin Library purchases the rights to allow its students access to Grolier Educational, a comprehensive reference source. The database contains five modules which include Encyclopedia Americana, Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia, Nueva enciclopedia Cumbre en linea (Spanish Encyclopedia) , The New Book of Popular Science, and Lands and Peoples. Information on the country's geography, people, economy, transportation, military and international issues that effect each country's relationship is readily available here.

This online index lets you search by author or by title and it directs you to the Gale reference volume and page (like Contemporary Authors, Contemporary Literary Criticism, Dictionary of Literary Biography, etc.) in the Brother Martin print collection where you can locate the information. Using this index will allow you to accomplish initial research steps from home, as you will know which volumes and pages will be helpful to you.
