Juniors
Academically qualified students who have completed the junior year
are eligible to participate in the Summer Honors Program at participating
colleges and universities during the summer following their junior
year. Regular college credit is earned. Brother Martin High School
grants one-half credit for each three-semester hour course successfully
completed. To qualify for the Summer Honors Program, the student
must (1) have a B average or better in his high school course work,
(2) have earned a minimum composite score of 24 on the ACT and
(3) be recommended for the program to the Honors Program Coordinator
by the Brother Martin Guidance Department.
Seniors
Seniors may request permission to pursue certain courses at the college
level at participating colleges and universities in the greater
New Orleans area. Regular college credit is earned. Brother Martin
grants one-half credit for each three-semester hour course successfully
completed. In addition to meeting the requirements for the Summer
Honors Program for juniors, each senior must have the permission
of the Honors Program Coordinator, who will consult with the
appropriate Department Chair at Brother Martin and the Academic
Assistant
Principal.
