A Night of the Arts

Crusader students participated in the third annual “Fine Arts Night” this week, showcasing talents in a variety of media. Our chorus, combined with the Mount Carmel Academy Chorale and accompanied by a Brother Martin brass ensemble with timpani, performed Bob Chilcott’s six piece Jubilate. The Dionysian Improv troupe entertained the audience with three improvisational sketches. Students in Mr. Tom Leggett’s Creative Writing class read from original prose and verse works. Members of the audience were then able to tour the art lobby and art room to view original work from a variety of students in our Art I, II, and III classes. Finally, the audience headed to the band room for a performance from six individuals on various instruments, including the marimba, flute, trombone, and snare drum. Finally, the Jazz Band performed two pieces: Benny Goodman’s “Stompin’ at the Savoy” and the rollicking “Sneaker” by Jay Chattaway. Congratulations, Crusader artists and performances, on your outstanding work and thank you for sharing your talents with our school community.
