The 2014 “Celebration of the Crest”- Brother Martin Extravaganza, sponsored by the Brother Martin Parents Club, was held on Saturday, November 15th at the New Orleans Marriott Hotel. The night was a grand success as over 870 Crusader friends celebrated in grand style, complete with an ice sculpture of the school crest, all to the benefit of the Brother Martin student body. Parents, friends, alumni of St. Aloysius, Cor Jesu, and Brother Martin, as well as faculty and staff, enjoyed an evening of great food, drink, music and a selection of over 300 silent and verbal auction items at one of the premiere hotels in New Orleans. The Crusader Jazz Band, directed by Mr. Chris Bailey ‘86, performed at the Patron Party, while the Student Ambassadors and Cheerleaders assisted in the festivities during the main event. The parent chair-couple for the event was Rhen & Kraig deLanzac ‘86 and the co-chair-couples were Mia & Scott Corrente ’83 and Jodi and Lindsey Williams ’85.
Among the many items up for biding in the Verbal Auction consisted of a signed Drew Brees Blue Dog print, a football signed by Drew Brees, Sean Payton and Tom Benson ’44 SA, a reserved parking spot for a student for the 2014-15 school year, an original painting by Bro. Carl Bouchereau, S.C., and dinner for 8 prepared in the winner’s house by Chef Scot Craig ’80 of Katie’s Restaurant.
